Guiding students and families
More than academics
Today's students face a seemingly overwhelming number of challenges, including learning struggles, emotional difficulties, and social and cultural pressures. My role is to guide students and their families through this educational and emotional obstacle course.
As a licensed clinical psychologist and a longtime educational therapist, I consider the individual as a whole. I get to know each young person I work with: their age, history, family structure, strengths, temperament and current concerns. From there, I provide individualized strategies that address their academic needs as well as their personality, because the two are always connected.
By taking the emotional side of learning into account, my exclusive Snyder Relational Learning Method teaches students to improve their relationship with their class work, their teachers, and their own learning style

The Snyder Relational Learning Method
Teaching young people how to be learners
The most important thing anyone can learn is how to learn. Technology can
deliver content all day long, but it cannot teach a young person how they learn
best. That is the heart of my work.
01
Strengths first
We use each student's strengths to support their stretches™, turning what they do well into the tools for what they find hard.
02
The whole student
Strategies are built around who your child is, their temperament, history and current concerns, not a one-size-fits-all curriculum.
03
A lasting relationship with learning
Students build a healthier relationship with their class work, their teachers and their own learning style, so progress continues long after our work together.
What I offer
Educational services
Advanced Educational Therapy
Far more than tutoring. Educational therapy addresses how a young person learns, not just what they need to memorize. Using a relational approach, I help students build the underlying skills, confidence and strategies that make learning work for them, from 3rd grade all the way through college.
3RD GRADE THROUGH COLLEGE
Executive Functioning Support
For many years, I have helped children, teens and families strengthen executive functioning: planning, organizing, prioritizing, focus, follow-through, and managing time and tasks. These are the skills students most need to succeed, and they can be taught and practiced.
A A KEY AREA OF SPECIALTY
Twice-Exceptional (2E) & Learning Differences
"Twice exceptional," or "2E," means a child is gifted but also has a learning difference such as dyslexia, ADHD, or a non-verbal learning disability (NVLD). These students can be remarkably strong in some areas and need extra support in others, because they learn differently. I provide specialized support for the many presentations of 2E and gifted learners.
GIFTED & TWICE-EXCEPTIONAL LEARNERS
Specialized Standardized Test Prep
Admission into colleges and universities continues to become more competitive, placing profound pressure on today's students and their families. I have significant experience guiding students through the emotional upheaval of the process, including test anxiety, and I offer test preparation tailored for students receiving accommodations.

Putting the "I" Back Into the IEP
I collaborate with educators, administrators and families to develop holistic, relationship-based learning plans that truly prioritize the student. The goal is always to keep the individual young person at the center of their own education.
COLLABORATION WITH SCHOOLS & FAMILIES
The difference it makes
Real progress, for real students
I work with each family to set and meet clear targets, objectives and goals, and I
help students build skills that serve them well beyond the classroom.
